What is Nacogdoches Pediatric Extended Care?

We are a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center (PPECC).  We provide physician ordered, skilled nursing care to children with complex medical conditions from birth through age 20.  Providing a warm, safe environment for children to grow and play while receiving the nursing care and therapies they require is what we do best!.

What are the hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 07:30am - 5:30pm.  The center is closed  on the following holidays:  New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

What services are provided?

Services offered include but are not limited to:

  • Skilled nursing care such as trach care, medication management, IV therapy, apnea monitoring, oxygen titration, wound care, catheter care, ventilator care and gastrostomy care.
  • Speech, physical and occupational therapies
  • Transportation services (within designated areas)
  • Socialization
  • Parent/caregiver education and training

How do you qualify and who pays for this service?

If your child currently qualifies for private duty nursing, they will most likely qualify for Nacogdoches Pediatric Extended Care.  Others qualify on an individual basis, children must require skilled nursing care through out the day.  If approved, care at the center is covered by Medicaid/Medicaid MCO's.

Who staffs the center?

We are staffed by experienced RN's, LVN's, and CNA's.  We contract with Hettie Legg & Associates who provide our speech, occupational and physical therapists at the center.  All of our employees work with the patient's physician to provide quality health care in a loving environment.
